De Mi Tierra turns 3!
Today, De Mi Tierra turns 3. To say that I am thankful is an understatement. Given the current situation of our country (and the world) I consider myself extremely lucky to celebrate this milestone with you. Three years ago, I took a chance on myself and my dream. I left my corporate marketing job to pursue my passion and my lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Was I scared? YES. However, I was more afraid of not giving it a try. I was more afraid of the regret I would feel if I never followed my purpose. I also wanted to have more time with my family on my own terms. I wanted to have the flexibility to create amazing holistic skincare products with truly clean and natural ingredients. This past year, I have worked harder and longer than I ever have. My grit has been tested time and time again. There’s a misconception that having your own business means that you will work less. The truth is you will work harder and longer than ever before. ✨💪🏼✨ They say that entrepreneurs would rather work 80 hours to avoid working 40. This is so accurately true.
Running a business during a pandemic, with social distancing measures in place, with a new baby at home (most emails are replied to while I am breastfeeding my 5 month old), plus my our homes becoming classrooms and workplaces, we had to learn to move forward, because that’s what small business owners learn to do. It’s a daily hustle and you must be willing to work hard and be patient. 🙏🏼You must love the work and the grind. “Mindset is to an entrepreneur what physical strength and agility are to a professional athlete”. It takes discipline and commitment to keep your mindset on track. ✨You can’t allow fear or judgment to paralyze you from moving forward. Entrepreneurship is a crazy journey, and I’m so happy that I took a chance on myself and that I get to share my passion with you.
But, I couldn’t have done it alone. My husband has always believed in my crazy ideas, without him honestly this wouldn’t be possible. He’s been my number one cheerleader and support since the very beginning and his commitment to helping me make this dream a reality is extraordinary. He has been an integral part of keeping De Mi Tierra running. I love you.
To my sisters Sandra y Lorena, who supported me and helped me throughout this journey. They took a dive with me to help De Mi Tierra come to life during its infancy and I am grateful for them. And to my ama y apa, how I miss them. They have been in Mexico this entire year due to COVID and they have been my biggest cheerleaders, always supporting my aspirations. Lastly, to my daughters Ellie, Adiah, and Emilia who have witnessed the birth of De Mi Tierra. They have watched mama work very hard, working late hours every night to give them an example that if you work hard enough at anything, have the courage, and be kind, everything is possible.
Most importantly, I must thank YOU our customers for your support and for trusting and believing in De Mi Tierra. Every order that comes in, literally makes my heart burst with joy. I enjoy reading every single one of your testaments to our products. We don't want to just sell you a product, we want to invite you on a journey into a new way of thinking about skincare.
I am so honored to be a part of your holistic and clean skincare journey. Thank you for sharing our products with your friends and families. Without your support and your belief in our products, I wouldn’t be able to pursue my purpose. There is still so much more that I want to do for De Mi Tierra...
Gracias de todo corazon,
Evelia
